Wishing For Spring
So much snow, snow, snow…
we are definitely ready for it to go!
To bring some color into these winter days, we’ve been looking at photographs of the flower fields in the Netherlands. From high above the land and down on the ground, Dutch flower farmers grow some of the most breathtaking fields of flowers in the world.
We viewed an online slideshow created by the farmers, showing their beautifully patterned fields. The flower fields are so bright and vibrant they almost don’t look real. Students noticed:
-
Repeating patterns
-
Stripes and blocks of bright color
-
Different types of flowers arranged in rows
The pictures in this post are just a small sample of what we explored together, but they give you a sense of the color, pattern, and beauty we’re bringing into the art room while the world outside is still covered in snow.
